Very happy to recommend Tim at Mason Structures. He did some calcs for us as part of a kitchen diner knockthrough project, including a site visit. He was always prompt in his communications, asked good questions to ensure he understood our goals, and also took time to ensure any questions I had were answered. He offered some useful tips about where we could save money and explained various options well. Very happy with the comprehensive report Tim produced, plus his generosity in fielding a number of follow-up questions later. Given structural engineering by nature is pretty technical stuff, it was nice to work with someone who clearly appreciates their client’s non-technical background in explaining options and concepts. Thanks again Tim. 🙂

What is a Structural Engineer?

A structural engineer completes calculations to specify the sizes of structural elements. The stability of a building/property is also assessed by the engineer or even to determine whether a structural element is required.

Will a Structural Engineer need to visit my property?

A visit is dependent on whether architect plans are available, what works are planned for the property and if plans are available if there are any specific parts where we believe a site visit would be useful.

How long do structural calculations take to complete?

Calculation lead times vary from project to project; however, usually, calculations will be sent to you within 7-10 working days from the appointment.
